Gambling Terms Glossary: Casino and Betting Terms
Common casino and betting terms explained in plain language, plus a few Turkish terms that appear in Diesbet's rules and bonus terms. The Diesbet-specific notes refer to the operator's pages as checked on 4 October 2026.
Betting Terms
Accumulator - A single bet that combines two or more selections (also called a combination or parlay). All selections must win; the odds are multiplied, and so is the bookmaker's margin.
Bankroll - The money a player sets aside for gambling and can afford to lose. Stake sizes are best planned as a small share of it.
Cash Out - An offer to settle a bet before the event has finished, at a price set by the bookmaker. The price includes a margin, so cashing out costs something on average.
Decimal Odds - Odds shown as the total return per unit staked, including the stake. Odds of 2.50 return 25 ₺ for a 10 ₺ stake; the implied probability is 1 ÷ 2.50 = 40%.
Handicap - A market that gives one side a virtual head start or deficit. With a -1.5 handicap, a team must win by at least two goals.
Live Betting - Betting on an event while it is in progress, with odds that change as the game develops.
Margin - The bookmaker's built-in advantage: the amount by which the implied probabilities of all outcomes exceed 100%.
Stake - The amount placed on a single bet.
System Bet - A bet made up of several combinations of selections, so that not all of them need to win. Some Diesbet offers explicitly exclude system bets.
Casino Terms
House Edge - The share of each stake that the game keeps on average: 2.70% in European roulette, 5.26% in American roulette.
Return to Player (RTP) - The theoretical share of stakes that a game pays back over a very large number of rounds. An RTP of 96% corresponds to a house edge of 4%.
Volatility - How strongly results fluctuate around the RTP. High-volatility slots pay rarely but sometimes large amounts; low-volatility slots pay small amounts more often.
Random Number Generator (RNG) - The software that determines the result of each round in digital games. Each round is independent of the previous ones.
Crash Game - A game in which a multiplier rises until it stops at a random point; the player must cash out before that. Diesbet has its own crash game, Dies Crash.
Even-Money Bet - A bet that pays 1:1, such as red/black in roulette. In Diesbet's rules such bets do not count towards deposit turnover.
Martingale - A system in which the stake is doubled after each loss. It does not change the house edge and fails at the table limit or the end of the budget. Diesbet's rules provide for account closure and unpaid winnings if such systems are used systematically.
Scatter Symbol - A slot symbol that triggers features such as free spins regardless of paylines.
Wild Symbol - A slot symbol that substitutes for other symbols to complete a winning combination.
Bonus Terms
Wagering Requirement - How many times a bonus (or deposit plus bonus) must be staked before winnings can be withdrawn. 25× on a 1,000 ₺ bonus means 25,000 ₺ in stakes.
Çevrim - Turkish for turnover or wagering requirement. “1 kat çevrim” means the amount must be staked once.
Çevrimsiz - Turkish for “without turnover”. At Diesbet, the sports bonus labelled this way still requires deposit and bonus to be played once in combinations.
Kayıp Bonusu - Turkish for loss bonus: a percentage of a net loss returned as bonus money. Diesbet offers loss bonuses from 5% to 30%.
Freebet - A bet paid for with bonus money; usually only the winnings are paid out, not the freebet amount itself.
Free Spins - Slot spins at a fixed stake funded by the operator. At Diesbet, they are tied to Gates of Olympus 1000 and other named games.
No Bonus User (NBU) - A status Diesbet gives to accounts it considers bonus abusers. NBU accounts receive no bonuses and face stricter turnover (sports at odds of at least 3.00, casino 10 times the deposit).
Max Cashout - The maximum amount that can be withdrawn from a bonus, regardless of the winnings, for example 10 times the bonus.
Payment Terms
Havale - Turkish for bank transfer. At Diesbet, havale payments run through payment intermediaries such as MegaPayz, Valepays or Anında.
Papara - A Turkish e-money wallet that Diesbet offers through an intermediary.
Verification (KYC) - Know Your Customer: checking identity, address and payment method with documents. Diesbet publishes no separate KYC policy; its rules only say that documents may be requested.
Withdrawal Limit - The maximum that can be withdrawn per transaction or period. At Diesbet the limit depends on the deposit size, from 20,000 ₺ to 1,000,000 ₺ per withdrawal.
Mirror Address - An alternative domain under which the same site can be reached. Diesbet changes numbered mirror addresses regularly, from diesbet378.com in August 2026 to diesbet392.com in October 2026.
Licensing and Protection Terms
Licence Register - The regulator's public list of licence holders with status, validity and covered domains. For Anjouan it can be checked on anjouangaming.com.
Licence Seal - A badge on the operator's site that links to the regulator's validation page. At Diesbet the seal names a different company than the footer text.
ADR - Alternative dispute resolution: an independent body that handles complaints the operator does not resolve. Under the Anjouan licence, approved ADR providers can be contacted after 30 days.
Self-Exclusion - A voluntary block on one's own account for a set period. Diesbet publishes no such tool.
Deposit Limit - A self-set maximum for deposits per day, week or month. Where an operator offers none, a fixed personal budget does the same job.
